The government submitted a Presidential Letter No. R-03/Pres/01/2021 on Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF) or Indonesia Investment Authority (LPI) to the House of Representatives (DPR) on January 12, 2021. The House's Chairperson Puan Maharani said the letter contained the list of candidates for the LPI Supervisory Board. "This is part of LPI or SWF establishment as mandated by Law No. 11/2020 on Job Creation," she said.

Puan continued, LPI consists of a Supervisory Board and a Board of Directors. The Supervisory Board consists of ministers and professional elements appointed by the president. According to her, the House will start the consultation for the list of names submitted by President Joko Widodo. "According to the Job Creation Law, the institution will start operating in January 2021," she said.
