What to Expect from the New Capital City Regulation?

The government plans to issue the State Capital Law (IKN) in the second half of 2021. The Public Works and Housing Minister’s expert staffer, Firdaus Ali, said that the regulation would serve as the legal umbrella for developers who want to develop the new state capital through government-to-business cooperation (KKPBU).

Firdaus also ensured that the law's secondary legislation would be out immediately after it comes into effect. "The law will become the legal basis for the private sector wanting to commit to the government-to-business scheme. The new state capital development involving the private sector is the government's goal due to fiscal constraints," he said on Tuesday (1/12).
