Summary

The government issued a draft government regulation (RPP) on immigration, posing as a derivative rule of Law No. 11/2020 on Job Creation. It amends several clauses in Law No. 6/2011 on immigration and the Government Regulation No. 31/2013 as its technical provision.

Secretary of the Coordinating Economic Affairs Ministry, Susiwijono Moegiarso, revealed that the derivative regulation's legislative process had been completed, but the government would still be open for suggestions. In accordance with the mandate of Article 185 of the Job Creation Law, the time limit to finalize the regulation is 3 months since its issuance on November 2, 2020. "It means that no later than February 1, 2021, the regulation must be published," he said.
