Zomato Shutdown, Is the Restaurant Aggregator Business Shrinking?
Zomato, a restaurant aggregator and food delivery platform, discontinues its services in Indonesia. The Indian startup has laid off all of its employees in Indonesia and will remotely provide basic services like a restaurant directory. "We will continue to manage this platform from afar, from India. You can still use Zomato to search and find favorite restaurants, including takeaway food services," a written statement from Zomato management stated.
Zomato also closed its paid services for Zomato Pro and Zomato Gold. Users of this premium feature will get a refund. "Refunds will be issued within 15-30 working days." Zomato, operating in Indonesia since 2018, is popular as a platform for table reservations in restaurants. With Zomato Pro and Zomato Gold premium services, users could get special access to reservations and exclusive offers from restaurants at the same time.
