Job Creation Law Effect: Foreign Investors Eyeing Lombok Airport?
About 26 companies including large airport operators and contractors signed up to become strategic partners in US$700 million projects to develop and operate Lombok International Airport, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). This project will use a public-private partnership scheme. The development of the airport is in line with Indonesia's attempt to make Lombok as the world-class tourist destination after Bali.
Angkasa Pura I will carry out the selection process, including provision and operation through Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Transfer (D-B-F-O-T) scheme. The estimated duration of the airport concession will be 30 years. "The estimated value of the project is about Rp 10.3 trillion, with the return on investment carried out through a payment mechanism by service users through tariffs as per existing regulation," Angkasa Pura I’s President Director, Faik Fahmi explained.
