Dirgantara Indonesia-GMF New Partnership in Aircraft Maintenance

Garuda's new management
Summary

PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero) or PTDI has expanded its maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) business from military fleets and helicopters to commercial aircraft in collaboration with PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk (GMF). PTDI's technology and development director, Gita Amperiawan, said that the company would also provide MRO service for civil aircraft.

Gita revealed that PTDI and GMF had already signed a memorandum of understanding on August 26. According to the agreement, PTDI and GMF will share aircraft maintenance, engineering and modification capabilities, component work, material procurement, and infrastructure utilization. One of the notable collaborative works will be the modernization of the Hercules C-130H aircraft. PTDI will also focus on the maintenance of propeller aircraft, such as the ATR-72. "The model has a quite large MRO market share, one of the users is the Lion Group," Gita explained.
