Will KPK Power Weakens as Employees Become Civil Servants?
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is transferring its employee status from independent state commission employees to civil servants (ASN). Deputy Chairman of KPK, Nawawi Pomolango, said that he is drafting regulations on the organization and work procedures to support employees' status changes. "We are still drafting organizational regulations and work procedures," he said, Monday (8/10).
The status change of KPK employees is regulated in Government Regulation No. 41/2020, which allows the anti-graft committee to transfer its employee into permanent or non-permanent civil servants. The status change process must be preceded by position adjustment so that KPK employees have the same grade to those of civil servants. Some of the positions that have been arranged are the Secretary-General of the Corruption Eradication Commission and deputy, who have middle high-ranking official level, as well as bureau chiefs and directors who have the same level as primary high ranks. The head of the department or the head of the field are administrator-level officials. Meanwhile, sub-department or sub-division heads are on par with supervisor-level officials.
