RNI's New Project: Smart Industry Area
The government and PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (Persero) or RNI are currently preparing a new industrial estate project in Subang, West Java. This five thousand hectares industrial area utilizes RNI's land in Pasirbungur Village, Purwadadi District, Subang. The Industry Ministry's Director General of Regional Resilience and International Industrial Access Dody Widodo said that this industrial area would be built with the concept of a smart industry area.
According to Dody, this industrial area is not only targeting foreign investors who want to move their factories to Indonesia but also local investors. "It's Currently in the stage of land preparation," he said. Dody is optimistic that this industrial area can attract investors because it offers land at a relatively lower price compared to other regions. The minimum wage for workers in Subang is also lower than in surrounding areas, such as in Bekasi and Karawang, which is Rp 2.9 million.
