Will Luhut's Aide Become the New Mineral and Coal Director-General?

The vacancy in the Director-General of Mineral and Coal (Dirjen Minerba) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) position will be filled soon, as the selection process has reportedly been completed. Ridwan Djamaluddin is said to be the new Director-General, replacing Bambang Gatot Ariyono, who retired in early May 2020. At present, Ridwan serves as Deputy for the Infrastructure and Transportation of the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime and Investment (Kemenko Marves).

Previously, six names passed the administrative selection to fill the position. Four of them come from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, namely Agung Pribadi who is currently the Head of the Communication Bureau for Public Information Services and Cooperation, Mohamad Priharto Dwinugroho (Head of the Center for Human Resources Development in Geology, Mineral, and Coal), Sujatmiko (Director of Coal Development and Business), and Yunus Saefulhak (Director of Mineral Development and Business). Meanwhile, two other names are officials from the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment, Ridwan Djamaluddin and Yohannes Yudi Prabangkara, Assistant Deputy for Infrastructure Support Industry.
