Repsol Eyes Southeast Jambi, South Sakakemang, Aru, and West Papua IV
Repsol SA is aggressively investing in Indonesia's upstream oil and gas sector, as seen in the Spanish oil and gas company's presentation of its investment strategies in the next few years to the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force (SKK Migas). "Repsol is also conducting an assessment of the Southeast Jambi, South Sakakemang, Aru, and West Papua IV Work Areas," said Head of SKK Migas Program and Communication Division Susana Kurniasih, Monday (8/3).
At present, Repsol is conducting activities in Sakakemang and Andaman III Blocks, with the target of producing gas in less than five years after reserves discoveries in the former block. Repsol is preparing to start drilling at the Musi Banyuasin, South Sumatra-based oil and gas block with the rig already on location. After that, Repsol will continue drilling the Kali Berau Dalam III well. "It (drilling) will start in November 2020," he said. SKK Migas is still waiting for the submission of the Sakakemang Plan of Development (PoD) from Repsol.
