The Ministry of Manpower reopens opportunities for migrant workers to go abroad. The policy was outlined in the Minister of Manpower Decree No. 294/2020 on the Placement of Migrant Workers During the New Normal Adaptation, published on July 29, 2020. 

Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziah argues that the reopening of opportunities for Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) and prospective Indonesian migrant workers (CPMI) to work abroad crucial to recover the economy. "[We reopen] by promoting the rights of migrant workers and health protocols," he said, Thursday (7/30).

Ida said she has coordinated with the local government whose migrant workers are domiciled to prepare their placement with the new normal protocol. "After everything is ready, both the destination country and the workers' origin, we will reopen," Ida said.
