Steeper Discount for Electricity Tariffs

The government will provide minimum electricity payment relief for social, industrial, and business sector customers. The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the scheme was an aspiration from industry players, particularly the tourism sector. "It has been approved, discounts for low-income groups are extended to December 2020," he said.

The Chairman of the National Economic Recovery and Transformation Task Force Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the reduction of electricity tariffs for the industry was one of President Joko Widodo mandates. He said that his team had prepared the program together with the Ministry of Finance. According to Budi, the incentive program for businesses will be expanded in line with demands and is prioritized on productive matters.
