Three Oil and Gas Projects Complete Faster Amid Pandemic

Summary

Although the COVID-19 pandemic has delayed many oil and gas upstream projects, some projects have actually been completed ahead of the target. The Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force (SKK Migas) said three oil and gas projects, which should have been completed next year, could be completed this year. First, Bambu Besar Field Development Project (undertaken by Pertamina EP). Secondly, PHE-12 Platform Reactivation Project (Pertamina Hulu Energi West Madura Offshore/PHE WMO). Third, Sembakung Gas Compressor Facility (Pertamina EP).

"The success in accelerating the realization of the upstream oil and gas project amid mobility restrictions due to COVID-19 shows the determination and enthusiasm of those in the upstream oil and gas sector in implementing the 2020 Work, Program, and Budget optimally and efficiently," SKK Migas Deputy of Operations Julius Wiratno said in a press release on Wednesday (6/3). SKK Migas and the contractors of cooperation contract (KKKS) have coordinated intensively to ensure that upstream oil and gas projects can run well according to the latest schedule and can be completed this year.
