Hospital Holding Company’s Launch Is Imminent?
The government is accelerating the creation of a holding company for hospitals possessed by state-owned enterprises (BUMN). SOE Minister, Erick Thohir, expected to complete the process by June 2020. Meanwhile, the ministerial aide, Arya Sinulingga, revealed that the government was formulating the holding’s ownership structure.
Arya said that the holding company would oversee 64 hospitals owned by 15 state-owned companies, and PT Pertamina Bina Medika-IHC would manage its shares. However, each related state-owned companies will receive a portion of shares depending on its contribution to the holding. “State-owned enterprises whose hospitals under the care of the holding will own IHC’s shares,” he continued.
