Who Will Lead Directorate-General of Mineral and Coal?

Summary

The Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ministry began the selection process for the Director-General of Minerals and Coal (Minerba) after Bambang Gatot Ariyono retired in early May 2020. A total of six candidates, two are from the Coordinating Maritime Affairs and Investment Ministry, while four others are career officials from the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry.

Candidates from the former category are the deputy minister on infrastructure and transportation, Ridwan Djamaluddin, and the deputy minister on infrastructure-supporting industries, Yohannes Yudi Prabangkara. Meanwhile, the ministry’s leading spokesperson, Agung Pribadi, is among internal candidates, besides the ministry’s director of coal business development, Sujatmiko, director of mineral business development, Yunus Saefulhak, and head of the human resource development center for geology, mineral, and coal, Mohammad Priharto Dwinugroho.
