East Java: The New Covid-19 Epicenter?
The Covid-19 mitigation in East Java is at risk. Surabaya Covid-19 task force’s deputy head, Arief Bakhtiar, revealed that many Covid-19 patients did not receive proper treatments because of limited facilities. Furthermore, some medical personnel contracting Covid-19 also could not work and had to undergo self- isolations.
The fact that several hospitals have stopped accepting Covid-19 patients also worsens the condition. Universitas Airlangga Hospital, for example, since May 26, 2020, has been full and stopped taking patients. Dr. Soetomo Hospital is no different. It is even treating Covid-19 patients in the emergency room.
