Government Working On 41 Major Projects to Restore the Economy
According to the National Development Planning (PPN) Ministry/Bappenas, the government will work on 41 major projects next year as part of the National Economic Recovery (PEN) program after the Covid-19 pandemic. On Tuesday (5/12), PPN Minister/Bappenas Head Suharso Monoarfa said the projects to be accelerated, including the development of 10 priority tourism destinations worth Rp 3.2 trillion, nine industrial estates outside Java, and 31 smelters with a value of Rp 628.2 billion.
Furthermore, several projects under the PEN program are also included in industry 4.0 in five priority subsectors worth Rp 1.3 trillion, vocational education and training for industry 4.0 amounting to Rp 4.39 trillion, and strengthening food security and infrastructure with a value reaching Rp 37.1 trillion. It includes strengthening business guarantees and 350 corporate farmers and fishers directly related to food security, as well as support for several major infrastructure projects.
