A Wave of Changes in Police Generals' Strategic Positions

Summary

The National Police Headquarters shuffled several middle and high ranking officers. A Secret Telegram signed by the National Police deputy chief, Commissioner-General Eddy Pramono, on May 1, 2020, stated that several new generals would fill the positions.

The head of the Indonesian National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT), previously led by the Commissioner-General Suhardi Alius, is now the Commissioner-General Boy Rafli Amar. The head of the Detachment 88, the counterterrorism unit, changed from the Inspector-General Muhammad Syafii to Brigadier-General Marthinus Hukum.

Meanwhile, Inspector General Aris Budiman is the new chief of the Regional Police in Riau Islands, and Brigadier General Ahmad Luthfi will be the Central Java police chief. On the other hand, the former Central Java Police Chief, Inspector General Rycko Amelza Dahniel, will now head the National Police's Intelligence and Security Agency.
