How Bank Indonesia’s Quantitative Easing Will Sustain the Economy?
Bank Indonesia (BI) will continue to inject liquidity into banks through the quantitative easing (QE) policy, reaching an estimated Rp 503.8 trillion since January.
"The amount of BI’s quantitative easing reached Rp 503.8 trillion since January," BI Governor Perry Warjiyo said in a video conference in Jakarta, Wednesday (4/29). Perry said the liquidity consisted of several policies issued from the beginning of the year to April amounting to Rp 386 trillion. The central bank’s easing to statutory reserve requirement, which takes effect in May, will add Rp 117.8 trillion to liquidity.
