Anticipating the New Wave of Dutch Expansions
Several Dutch investors are exploring new investment opportunities in Indonesia, exploiting the visits of King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima in March 2020. The chairman of VNO-NCW (the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers), Hans de Boer, said that about 135 companies were interested in investing their capital in Indonesia, including midsize corporations recently considering Indonesian market.
“We will introduce Indonesia to them,” Hans de Boer promised, as quoted by Tempo. Besides, several huge corporations already operating in Indonesia also plan to carry out business expansions, such as Frisian Flag (milk producer), Phillips (electronics manufacturers), and Royal Dutch Shell (oil and gas operator).
