Investors Race for Patimban Port's Vehicle Terminal

Summary

Companies are competing for management rights on vehicle distribution terminals at Patimban Port, Subang, West Java. The terminal will become the most extensive domestic export-import and distribution facility for vehicles with a capacity of 218,000 units of completely-built-up (CBU) vehicles. PT Indonesia Vehicle Terminal Tbk (IKT) is among those aiming for the terminal.

IKT Investor Relations Reza Priyambada said the Patimban Port's vehicle terminal management is in line with the company's business expansion. IKT, which currently also manages a vehicle terminal at Tanjung Priok Port, North Jakarta, expects to expand the land area from 11.5 hectares to 89.5 hectares by 2022 to accommodate 2.1 million vehicles. Another local company eyeing the Patimban Port management rights is logistic infrastructure provider PT Astra Tol Nusantara (Astra Infra).
