Bank Indonesia's Consumer Confidence Index in January 2020 fell to 121.7 from 126.4 in December 2019. An index above 100 indicates that the public is still in optimistic perception. Positive perceptions of the current conditions and expectations of the future economy support consumers' level of optimism.
Consumers still view the current economy positively, especially from the conditions of income and purchases of durable goods. Moreover, consumers continue to have positive expectations regarding income, availability of employment, and business activities in the next six months.
