Pupuk Indonesia Expands NPK Fertilizer Production

Summary

State fertilizer industry holding PT Pupuk Indonesia, or PHIC, is increasing its production capacity of nitrogen, phosphate, and potassium (NPK) fertilizers. This year, PIHC, through PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda, is working on an NPK plant in North Aceh with a production capacity of 500,000 tons per year. While working on the US$ 123 million-worth project, PIHC also plans two other projects.

Both are the expansion of PT Pupuk Kujang’s 500,000 tons-capacity NPK factory in Cikampek and the NPK factory in Bontang, East Kalimantan, with a production capacity of 2x500,000 tons per year, managed by PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur. PIHC President Director Aas Asikin Idat said it would increase the total NPK production capacity from 3 million tons to 5.4 million tons by 2025.
