PGN’s Huge Stake in Kepodang

Summary

PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) plans to resume the distribution of natural gas from the Kepodang field of Muriah block at the beginning of February 2020. PGN’s operation in the area is a result of Petronas’, the previous operator, unwillingness to continue the production. The company claimed that the force majeure forced them to terminate the contract.

PGN’s subsidiary, Saka Energy, will take over the operation in the Kepodang field. However, PGN will not only try to operate the field but also plan to commence exploration and exploitation projects in the block.
