Bright Prospects in Vehicle Export Opportunities
Statistics Indonesia (BPS) noted exports of motor vehicles and parts throughout 2019 increased 8.06 percent to US$ 8.16 billion from the previous year. The upward trend in exports is likely to continue in 2020, along with the production expansion of some vehicle brands.
First Chairman of the Indonesian Automotive Industries Association (Gaikindo), Jongkie Sugiarto, said exports rose after several brands became exporters. According to him, Honda, Wuling, and DFSK began exporting their products in 2019. Thus, there are currently nine vehicle brands that have factories in Indonesia and are reaching the export market. "The export trend will keep improving because overseas demand is also quite good," said Jongkie.
