Summary

Kuala Lumpur-based company Immunix Group is exploring opportunities to build a solar power plant in collaboration with Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK).

The company's CEO Dato' Sri Mohd Shukri revealed the plan to establish it on a 120-hectare land owned by the university.

"Immunix is willing to invest Rp 2.1 trillion, with a three-year pre-production period. We need 120 hectares of land, USK's land," he said, while hoping USK can help arrange a power purchase agreement (PPA) with PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) so that electricity generated can be used.

USK rector Professor Marwan welcomed the opportunity. "Our campus is large, so it is possible for solar cell development," he said.

For the record, the university has two solar cell units: each at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) and the Faculty of Engineering (FT).
