The Latest Version of Job Creation Law, What's Missing and Changing?
The confusion surrounding the draft of the Job Creation Law (UU) has not died down. The government handed over a 1,187-page draft to Islamic organizations, including the Muhammadiyah Central Executive Board (PP). According to the General Secretary of PP Muhammadiyah, Abdul Mu'ti, the draft was sent by State Secretary Pratikno, but President Joko Widodo has not signed it. "It's a soft copy draft. There is no signature," he said, Thursday (10/22).
State Secretary Pratikno also sent the Job Creation Law draft to the Nahdlatul Ulama Central Board (PBNU) and the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI). Pratikno was ordered by Jokowi to familiarize the public with the law and gather inputs from the three Islamic organizations. The Deputy Chairperson of the MUI, Muhyiddin Junaidi, received the draft on October 18, 2020.
